My friends chimed in with their own stories. And slowly an idea formed… what if we looked at and researched as many of the backpacks out there as we could? And then used that research to come up with the best backpack across many different categories?
The $60 Question
I had just forked out yet another $60 on a backpack. As usual, I shopped with my eyes—judging by looks alone. But days later I sat down with three friends and started complaining: Why was it so hard to find a *truly great* backpack?
By truly great I meant that it appeals to:
- The eyes: It should complement your own individual style
- The head: You know what you need: Laptop sleeve, compartment etc.
- The back: The least sexy, but get this wrong and it will literally hurt you down the road

The Pitch...ers
Maybe it was the third pitcher of beer, but as we talked it started to feel like a really
good idea. With no idea just how much work we were really undertaking,
Bag
Academy
was born!
The (Actual) Pitch
What makes us different? We’re a group of eclectic people; different gender, shape, size and needs. So we bring a lot of different perspectives to the table. And when we agree about something, it means something.
Products you use every day have to be *just right* to go the distance. Like a mattress, or a pair of trainers, a backpack that is off in one area, will quickly become a non-starter. But it’s hard to tell at a store what little feature (or lack thereof) will drive you crazy over time.
Now you can rest easy: Bag Academy has your back.
